Latin Looks in Hollywood over Time

Hollywood has always been about more than weaving stories on the silver screen. It has also worked hand-in-glove with the advertising industry. This essay examines Latin@ representation in five major eras of Latino film history: (1) the Silents and Early Talkies (pre 1940); (2) the Good Neighbor Era (1940-1949; (3) the Cold War Era (1950-67); (4) the Modern Era (1968-1989) and (5) the Post Modern era (1990s to present).
