The Archives Center at the National Museum of American History, Smithsonian Institution, holds more than 1,200 collections. Its advertising collections are some of the richest collections. Many Archives Center collections document entrepreneurial activity in which invention and marketing are inextricably linked. The creation of nationally recognized brands, corporate identities and commercial depictions of race, ethnicity, gender and other cultural categories are well represented in the holdings.
